How FactorySpecs works

From registration to full factory spec report in under 10 seconds.

1

Enter the registration or VIN

Type any UK plate — or paste a 17-character VIN if you have one. We validate it instantly and start pulling data.

2

We resolve the VIN and call the manufacturer

The registration resolves to a unique VIN. We then decode that VIN against manufacturer build records — not model-level catalogues, but the actual factory order for that specific car.

3

Cross-reference vehicle history

MOT records, mileage readings, keeper history, V5C dates, tax status, and EV battery data are pulled from government and industry databases. Everything is matched and verified.

4

Your report is ready

Factory-fitted options with original prices, full MOT intelligence, live valuations, mileage integrity scoring, and an AI buying assessment — all in one clear report.

Where the data comes from

FactorySpecs pulls data from multiple authorised sources: the DVSA for MOT history, the DVLA for vehicle identity and tax status, manufacturer build record databases for factory specifications, and industry valuation providers for live market pricing.

We don't guess. We don't use model-level catalogues and hope for the best. We decode the actual VIN against the manufacturer's factory build record to identify exactly what was ordered and fitted when the car was new.
