1. About FactorySpecs

FactorySpecs ("the Service") is operated by FactorySpecs Ltd ("we", "us"), registered in England. The Service aggregates vehicle data from third-party data providers and presents it in a single interface for informational purposes.

By creating an account, purchasing a report, or using the Service in any way, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Informational use only

All information provided by FactorySpecs, including but not limited to factory-fitted options and prices, MOT history, mileage data, valuations, vehicle specifications, HPI checks, and AI-generated assessments, is provided "as is" and "as available" for informational purposes only.

• We do not create, modify, interpret, or editorially adjust the underlying vehicle data. We present data received from our third-party sources as-is.
• We make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any data displayed.
• Vehicle data is sourced from third-party providers including government agencies, manufacturer databases, and licensed data services. These sources may contain errors, omissions, delays, or inconsistencies that are outside our control.
• Factory-fitted option data is decoded from manufacturer build records and VIN databases. Coverage and accuracy vary by manufacturer, model year, and data provider. Some vehicles may return limited or no factory option data.
• Valuations are estimates derived from market data and should not be treated as formal appraisals.
• AI-generated assessments are automated outputs based on available data and do not constitute professional financial, legal, or mechanical advice.
• Mileage integrity scores and anomaly indicators are statistical estimates only. They do not constitute proof of mileage fraud or any other wrongdoing.
• HPI and vehicle history data, including finance, write-off, stolen status, and mileage records, is sourced from third-party databases and may not reflect the most current position.

3. Not a substitute for professional checks

FactorySpecs is not a replacement for:

• A full HPI or provenance check from an authorised provider
• An independent mechanical inspection by a qualified technician
• A professional vehicle valuation or appraisal
• Legal advice in connection with any vehicle transaction
• Finance or insurance checks

A FactorySpecs report is a starting point for your own research, not a final word. You should always carry out appropriate due diligence before purchasing, selling, or insuring any vehicle.

4. Data accuracy and coverage

We make a best effort to provide accurate and comprehensive vehicle data. However:

• Factory option coverage varies by manufacturer. Some makes return rich data with prices; others return limited or no data. We disclose the expected data level before purchase where possible.
• We rely entirely on third-party data providers. If a provider returns incorrect or incomplete data, we have no independent means of verification.
• Historical data (MOT records, keeper changes, V5C dates) is sourced from DVSA and DVLA and is subject to their data quality and timeliness.
• Vehicle images are stock photographs sourced from third-party providers and may not represent the exact specification or condition of the vehicle being checked.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, any information provided by the Service, including but not limited to losses arising from vehicle purchases, missed defects, inaccurate valuations, incorrect factory option data, or any decision made on the basis of our reports.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

6. Payments, credits, and refunds

• Reports are purchased using credit packs or subscriptions. Prices are displayed at the point of purchase and include VAT where applicable.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable once used.
• If a report returns significantly less data than indicated at the pre-purchase disclosure stage, contact us and we will review on a case-by-case basis.
• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Existing purchased credits will be honoured at the rate paid.

7. Pre-purchase disclosure

Before payment, we make a best effort to indicate the expected data coverage for the vehicle being checked. This may include a tier classification (full spec expected, limited spec, or history only). This indication is based on the vehicle's make and model year, and is not a guarantee of what the report will contain.

8. Free checks

Free MOT and tax status checks are provided using publicly available government data (DVSA/DVLA). These are offered without warranty and may be withdrawn or limited at any time.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to scrape, automate, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Share your account credentials with any third party
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit data obtained from the Service without our written consent
• Use data obtained from the Service to harass, defraud, or harm any individual
• Submit fraudulent or fabricated registration numbers or VINs

10. Intellectual property

All software, design, and original content on this Service is owned by us or licensed to us. Vehicle data is sourced from third-party providers and remains their intellectual property. You may use data from the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes only.

11. Account suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is in breach of these Terms, is being used for automated access, or is being used in a manner that could harm the Service or its users.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
